Newsweek Takes On The Bipolar Child
Sun, 18 May 2008 22:58:46 PDT
The new issue of Newsweek has a cover story on a child who allegedly has bipolar disorder and, while it is an article filled with lots of detail and heart, it is also one of the worst pieces of journalism on the alleged disorder that I have ever seen. I'll return to the media criticism in a second. The article concerns a boy named Max, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and hyperactivity when he was two. He's been on 38 different meds, including Zyprexa at two years old. He's been hospita

The key is part of a 5-point user safety system designed to prevent someone who is unfamiliar with the laser from mis

Ahhhhh... Just look at the beautiful CGI backdrop... Wheeee! The trailer for Baz Luhrmann's first film since 2001's Moulin Rouge, Australia, starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman is now online and I'll be damned if it doesn't look like they are simply presenting the spectacle rather than giving us the full story. The story sounds like a great throwback to old school westerns, but I fear this determined use of CGI landscapes, such as the obvious and awful looking one above (captured d
Love Him or Hate Him, Shia LaBeouf is a Movie Star
Sun, 18 May 2008 23:01:16 PDT
I am happy I have never said anything bad about Shia LaBeouf over the course of his recent rise to Hollywood stardom. There was no doubt there was confidence in this kid, and for good reason, he can act. However, looking around the Internet you wouldn't think that were the case... at least not in the eyes of the fanboys. I found
